The ICT/Woolworths Feeding Program

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, with many South Africans suffering under lockdown, ICT and Woolworths began what would become our permanent Feeding Program.

On 23 April, 2020, the first meals were cooked and delivered from Woolworths Head Office to some of the neediest residents of the communities of Athlone, Bo-Kaap, CBD, Delft, Khayelitsha, Lavender Hill, Langa, and Philippi.

As the pandemic persisted, and the number of hungry people grew, so did our commitment to bring fresh, healthy meals to as many people as possible. Thus far, over 1.6 million meals have been served.

The Feeding Program kitchen has also become an integral part of ICT's curriculum, as 25-30 new ICT students each quarter, prep and cook the meals, and prepare them for distribution.

If an organization you are affiliated with wishes to become a beneficiary of the Feeding Program, please click here to download an application form.

Individuals are not eligible. The number of beneficiaries is limited. New beneficiaries are approved as openings become available.
